How to Fix Crashes When Opening a Plan View in Revit
Issue:
Opening a specific view within a Revit project may cause the software to crash. Users might encounter various error messages related to this problem.

This issue has been addressed in the following update:
Revit 2019.2
To install updates, open the Autodesk Desktop App and click on My Updates. To install a new version of Autodesk software, log in to the Autodesk Desktop App, then select My Products. Alternatively, you can log in to your Autodesk account via a web browser to access updates or new versions, depending on your software entitlement.
Solutions:
Several approaches have proven effective in resolving this crash issue:
- Open the file and duplicate the problematic view containing detailed information. Afterward, delete the original view that causes the crash.
- Uploading and placing the model on the cloud can sometimes resolve the issue entirely.
- Remove the view template before opening the view, then reapply the template after successfully opening it. This method has worked in certain cases.
