Editing and Modifying Wall Decorative Strips in Revit
Adding or Removing Wall Decorative Strip Segments
You can add segments of existing decorative strips to a new wall or remove segments from an existing wall decorative strip.
First, open the 3D view and select the wall decorative strip you want to modify.
Then, go to the Modify | Wall Decoration Strip tab and use the Wall Decoration Strip panel to add or remove wall segments.
Select the wall where you want to continue adding or removing decorative strip segments.
Click Modify to complete the addition or removal process.
Adjusting the Size of Unconnected Wall Decorative Strips
If a wall decorative strip is not connected or constrained by other elements, you can manually adjust its size by dragging the handle.
In a 3D or elevation view, select the wall sweep.
Drag the endpoint of the wall decorative strip to resize it as needed.
Adding Dimension Annotations to Wall Decorative Strips
You can add dimension annotations to measure distances between wall trims and other reference points in your drawing.
Place dimension annotations between the end of the wall decorative strip and another reference point.
To adjust the dimension values, drag the shape handles of the wall decorative strip; the dimension values will update automatically.
Labeling and Adjusting Decorative Strips
Moving Segments of Wall Decorative Strips
When moving one or more segments of a wall trim, the offset of all segments adjusts to maintain symmetry.
Moving a Single Segment
Select the specific wall decorative strip segment you want to move.
For horizontal wall trim, move it up or down; for vertical wall trim, move it left or right.
Moving Multiple Wall Decorative Strips
Hover your cursor over the wall sweep and press the Tab key to cycle through and select the shape handle of the wall sweep.
Watch the status bar to confirm when the shape handle is highlighted, then click to select it.
Move the wall decorative strip up or down (horizontal) or left or right (vertical) as needed.
