Supports are created by drawing lines between two structural elements. For example, supports can be placed between structural columns and beams.
Supports can be added in either plan views or frame elevation views.
Adding Support in a Frame Elevation View
First, open the frame elevation view.
If needed, load additional supports from the Revit library: navigate to the Library folder, then Structure > Framework.
Next, go to the Structure tab, then the Structure panel, and click Support.
From the Attributes palette, use the Type Selector dropdown to choose the appropriate support type.
To edit the support properties before placing it, click the Properties button on the options bar.
In the drawing area, select the snap point on the structural element you want to support, such as a column. Click to set the starting point.
Begin drawing the support by moving the pointer diagonally. When the cursor nears another structural element, it will snap to it. Click to set the endpoint.
Example of support in a frame elevation view:

Adding Support in a Plan View
Open the relevant plan view.
Navigate to the Structure tab, then the Structure panel, and click Support.
On the options bar, specify the Starting Elevation and its offset distance, as well as the End Elevation and its offset distance.
Click to set the starting and ending points of the support within the project.
