How to Create Pipe Support Hangers in Revit
Pipe support hangers come in various types across different projects, each installed according to specific requirements. Despite their variety, many support hangers share similar shapes. In this guide, we will use Revit to model pipe support hangers based on the following diagram.
Start by creating a new family using the Metric Standard Model template, as shown below:
Next, on the floor plan, draw six reference planes. Then use the stretch command to create a rectangular slab, spanning from a starting point of 10 to an endpoint of -10, as illustrated:
Draw four additional reference planes to mark the positions of the nuts. Then proceed to model four nut holes along with the nuts themselves, as shown:
On the elevation view, add two reference planes and draw the vertical steel pipe accordingly, as depicted:
Following that, draw two horizontal reference planes and create the horizontal steel pipe, as demonstrated:
Now, for the pipeline’s fixed clamps, first draw six reference planes, then model the clamps based on these guidelines, as shown in the figure:
Once all components are drawn, use the mirror command to replicate the design on the opposite side, as illustrated:
