How to Create a Double-Layered Glass Panel Family in Revit
Today, I will guide you through the process of creating a double-layered glass panel family in Revit, using metric curtain wall panels as the base.
Start by creating four reference lines and adding parameters for glass thickness and hollow distance. Adjust these parameters to the desired values.
Next, set the work plane and open the elevation view. Use the rectangle tool to draw the glass shape, then lock its position. Enter the work plane to fine-tune and lock the placement.
Assign the drawn glass to the panel subcategory and add a material parameter to it.
The second glass layer is created using the same method, so it will not be repeated here. Then, draw the hollow rubber gasket using the stretch tool in the plan view. After drawing, lock the reference lines.
You can mirror the gasket to the opposite side using the mirror tool. Be sure to use the alignment tool afterward to lock the reference plane post-mirroring.
Finally, adjust and lock the elevation position.
With these steps completed, your double-layered glass panel family is ready.
