Non-prestressed hollow floor slabs are widely used as standard components in the construction industry. They typically come in thicknesses of 20 and 24 centimeters. During both design and manufacturing, reinforcement must strictly follow mechanical specifications to ensure safety and performance.
Compared to solid floor slabs, hollow floor slabs are approximately 35% lighter, offering significant material savings—especially beneficial for prefabricated housing projects.
These slabs require no temporary support during installation, and their surfaces do not need cast-in-place concrete, eliminating the need for wet construction work. This allows for faster installation, reducing both construction time and overall costs. Additionally, the smooth underside of the slabs does not need further leveling after assembly and jointing, and can be directly coated with paint, which saves on finishing expenses.
