Technical Principle of Prefabricated Truss Reinforced Concrete Composite Floor Slabs
Prefabricated truss reinforced composite floor slabs first emerged in Germany during the 1960s. This technique involves embedding triangular steel trusses within prefabricated concrete slabs. Once these composite slabs are installed on site, a layer of cast-in-place concrete of a specified thickness is poured over them. This creates a composite floor slab that acts as a unified structural element.
These composite slabs can be engineered to handle both unidirectional and bidirectional loads. After decades of research and practical application, their technical performance is now essentially on par with that of traditional cast-in-place slabs of the same thickness.
Because the prefabricated laminated bottom plates are produced in controlled factory environments, they allow for high mass-production efficiency. This not only speeds up the construction process but also ensures consistent quality.
