1. Plugin Introduction
Autodesk Revit Extensions, also known as the Revit Speed Bo Plugin Package, is an enhancement toolkit designed to work alongside Revit. This plugin offers a variety of features aimed at improving collaborative efficiency among designers. It also integrates practical web services and reliable design content. Note that this version is compatible only with 64-bit operating systems. Users interested in boosting their workflow should definitely give it a try!
Features of Speedy Plugins
– Additional product features that extend and enhance Revit’s functionality
– Integrated web services to improve collaboration and support sustainable design
– Reliable design content, including dedicated libraries and tools that enrich visualization and rendering capabilities
Key Functions of the Speedobo Plugin
1. Draw Lines: Apply hand-drawn graphic styles to the current view or use a defined view template to apply styles across multiple views.
2. Anti-aliasing: In the “Options” dialog, the “Use Anti Aliasing” setting has been updated to “Use Anti Aliasing to Smooth Lines”. You can now enable anti-aliasing for all views or selected views. Additionally, the Revit.ini file allows predefinition of these settings for users.
3. Improved Ray Tracing Usability: The interactive “ray tracing” rendering style for views has been enhanced to provide faster, higher-quality, and smoother rendering, with improved color accuracy and shadows across all backgrounds.
4. Formula Updates:
– Exp(x): Earlier versions calculated exp(x) as 10^x. Starting from this version, exp(x) is correctly calculated as e^x.
– Ln(x): The natural logarithm (base e) can now be expressed as ln(x) according to the formula.
5. Revit Platform Enhancements: The following improvements apply to all Revit versions:
Software Features
– Adaptive shelving creation
– Parameterized curved stairs and double helix stairs
– Building exterior skin creation
– Panel deformation and deformation statistics
– Force analysis
– Steel bar generation
– Steel structure connection nodes
– Various small utilities
Usage Instructions
1. Open the required software and navigate to the modeling section, which includes tools such as Excel-based model generators and framework generators;
2. Use analysis tools including frame static analysis, beam static analysis, transverse static analysis, and composite component design;
3. Steel structure connections include beam-to-end plate and beam-to-foundation connections;
4. Additional tools include sharing options, project parameters, component positioning, model comparison, content generation, and text generation;
2. Plugin Installation Guide
Installation Overview
This guide uses the 16th edition as an example:
– Plugin size: 211MB (667MB after decompression)
– The program is a self-extracting EXE file
Below is the decompression interface for the Revit 2016 Turbo Plugin:
Installation Process:
After installation, the Revit interface will appear as shown in the screenshot:
3. Demonstration: Generating Rebar with the Plugin
Automatically and quickly generate steel reinforcement bars using the Revit plugin.
Step 1: Create a Simple Beam and Column Model
Step 2: Begin reinforcing the beams and columns by selecting the structural columns that require reinforcement, as shown in the image below:
Step 3: Set Basic Parameters for Reinforcing Structural Columns
The plugin loads graphic information from the existing Revit model, including identification, size, and position of the structural columns. Because of this, many parameters in the dialog box appear grayed out and cannot be modified.
Note: If the option “Save data but do not save generated reinforcement” is unchecked, the reinforcement will be generated and displayed in Revit. If checked, reinforcement data will be saved (usable after restarting the extension), but reinforcement will not be displayed.
Step 4: Click OK to sequentially add steel bars to other components.
Important: The reinforcement function is widely used in Superb to improve steel bar generation efficiency. However, it is recommended to use both Revit’s built-in reinforcement and the Superb plugin reinforcement for the best performance and accuracy of steel bars.
Finally, unless specifically required, it is not recommended to build all steel bar models exhaustively.
