The DPR model segmenter is a plugin designed to generate 3D building components directly from Revit models. Currently, the only method to apply floor segmentation within Revit models is by using base layer filtering. However, this method tends to split components of multi-layered elements—such as walls or columns—into a single cohesive structure that links only one floor. This segmentation does not fully reflect the spatial structure of the original model.
During the construction coordination process, this limitation in Revit’s model segmentation can be problematic, especially when there is a need to segment the building model into multiple individual floors. The DPR model splitter addresses this issue by accelerating the segmentation process, allowing users to efficiently obtain a model segmented by floors.
