1. Plugin Introduction

Autodesk Revit Extensions, also known as the Revit Speed Bo Plugin Package, is an enhancement toolkit designed to work alongside Revit.

This plugin package offers a wide range of features aimed at boosting collaborative efficiency among designers. It integrates practical web services and reliable design content to enrich your workflow. Please note, this version is only compatible with 64-bit operating systems. Speedobo Plugin Functions

1. Draw Lines: Use the new “Draw Lines” feature to apply hand-drawn graphic styles either to the current view or across multiple views using a defined view template.

2. Anti-Aliasing: In the “Options” dialog, the setting “Use Anti Aliasing” has been updated to “Use Anti Aliasing to Smooth Lines”. You can now enable anti-aliasing for all views or select views within the project. These settings can also be predefined in the Revit.ini file for user convenience.

3. Ray Tracing Improvements: The interactive rendering style “ray tracing” has been enhanced to deliver faster, higher-quality, and smoother rendering with improved color accuracy and shadows on all backgrounds.

4. Formula Updates:
Exp(x): Previous versions calculated exp(x) as 10^x, but starting with this version, it is correctly calculated as e^x.
Ln(x): The natural logarithm (base e) is now expressed as ln(x) following standard mathematical notation.

5. Revit Platform Enhancements: The following improvements apply across all Revit versions:

Usage Instructions

1. Launch the required software and click on modeling options, which include models generated from Excel, framework generators, etc.
2. Analysis options cover frame static analysis, beam static analysis, transverse static analysis, composite component design, and more.
3. Steel structure connection points include beams connected to hanging end plates, hanging foundations, etc.
4. Tools include sharing, project parameters, component positioning, model comparison, content generators, and text generators.

2. Plugin Installation Guide

Installation Overview

This guide uses version 16 as an example.

Plugin size: 211MB (667MB after decompression). The program is a self-extracting EXE file.

3. Demonstration of Rebar Generation Using the Plugin

Quickly and automatically generate steel reinforcement bars using the Revit plugin.

Step 1: Create a Simple Beam-Column Model

Step 2: Begin Reinforcing Beams and Columns – Select the structural columns that require reinforcement, as shown below:

Step 3: Set Basic Parameters for Reinforcing Structural Columns

The plugin loads graphical data from the existing Revit model, including the identification, size, and location of structural columns. As a result, many parameters in this dialog box are grayed out and cannot be modified.

Note: If the “Save data but do not save generated reinforcement” option is unchecked, reinforcement bars will be generated and visible in Revit. If this option is checked, reinforcement data will be saved (usable after restarting the extension), but the reinforcement will not be displayed.

Step 4: Click OK to Add Steel Bars to Other Components Sequentially

Please note that the reinforcement function is commonly used in Superb to improve steel bar generation efficiency. However, it is important to understand that combining Revit’s built-in reinforcement tools with Superb’s plugin provides a more accurate depiction of steel bar performance.

Finally, unless there is a specific need, it is generally not recommended to create all steel bar models.
