This project won an open international planning and design competition in 2010. Bok&BluesShuset is a three-story building that houses a library, cinema, live stage, café, blues museum, recording studio, and music classroom.

The offices of Notodden Blue Adjustment and Europas Bluessenster are also located here. All functions within the building are connected through an open front hall and reception area. The design extensively incorporates elements of historic industrial architecture, reflecting the character of the Notodden dock area today.

The building’s various functions are organized into distinct volumes, allowing their use to be easily identified from the exterior. The three large lighthouses above the reception desk and front hall serve as symbolic features of this building.
