How to Create Relief Walls in Revit

Relief walls can be created using families in Revit, but if your project contains many reliefs, the resulting model size may become quite large. Today, I will share an efficient method for creating relief walls directly within your project.

Start by selecting a new wall and clicking on Create Parts, as shown in the image below.

Next, click on Split Parts, then choose Edit Sketch. Make sure to select the work plane on the side of the wall. Edit the contour of the wall where you want to divide it, then click OK to complete this step, as illustrated below.

Now, divide the separated wall into parts once more and repeat the previous step. This time, select the work plane on the front side of the wall, as this is where you will carve the relief shapes. Once you finish editing, select the excess wall parts and click Exclude Parts. This will complete the creation of your relief wall, as shown in the following figure.
