How to Place Trusses in Revit
Begin by placing structural truss elements within your model. Adjust the truss layout to align with the overall span, which will generate frame elements that correspond to the lines in the modified truss layout. To get started, open a building elevation view where you want to add a truss.
Navigate to the Structure tab, then select the Structure panel and click on Truss.
In the Attributes section on the palette, use the Type Selector drop-down menu to choose the desired truss type.
Next, go to the Modify | Place Truss tab, and in the Draw panel, select Line. Specify the starting and ending points of the truss, or alternatively, click Pick Line to select an edge or line that will constrain the truss placement.
