Creating Decorative Interior Walls with Curtain Walls in Revit
When designing interior decoration models, interior walls are often finished with ceramic tiles. So, how can you replicate this wall effect in Revit? Below is a concise guide to help you achieve this.
1. Start by creating a new family file. Open the metric curtain wall panel, switch to the exterior elevation view, create a stretch, and lock the work plane as shown in the image.
2. Adjust the stretch thickness to fit your project’s specific requirements, then add material parameters as illustrated.
3. Create a hollow profile to cut out the four corners of the stretch, as demonstrated in the figure.
4. Apply appropriate materials, then create a new project and load the family into it.
5. Draw the curtain wall and divide it into grids. Set the grid constraints and divisions according to your project’s needs, as shown.
6. Select the curtain wall panels and replace them with the newly created family. The final result is displayed in the image.
Note: Often in real-world engineering, certain components may not have direct commands for creation in Revit. In such cases, alternative approaches—like using curtain wall panels instead of tile components—are necessary to achieve the desired outcome.
