The Life Aesthetics Museum is situated in Shenzhen’s Shajing Quanzhi Science and Technology Innovation Park. It serves as part of the park’s cultural and leisure facilities integrated into its renovation and upgrade strategy. The building houses independent furniture brand stores as well as fruit and tea shops.
Facing the highway to the north, the museum is bordered by a preserved row of small leaf poplar trees. This northern edge features a staggered wall designed to block highway noise while offering views of the foliage. To the south lies the park’s second office building. The museum’s design complements this adjacent building by fostering a lively, comfortable pedestrian public space that merges leisure, commercial, and artistic functions on the ground floor.

The complex consists of six units. On the west side, four units accommodate independent furniture brand stores, while two units near the entrance square host fruit and tea shops. The outdoor seating at these shops enhances the urban public atmosphere, creating a welcoming space on the square.
To fulfill exhibition space requirements for the furniture stores, the two central units have been merged into a larger unit, offering an expansive indoor display area. The museum’s design draws inspiration from traditional Shajing residences, incorporating elements such as sloped roofs and courtyard arrangements. Each unit includes a courtyard paired with a building featuring a single-direction sloping roof.

The roof structure utilizes concrete ribbed beams, which enhance the spatial experience under the sloped roofs. These exposed beams retain the wood grain texture from the pine formwork, adding warmth to the concrete. Walls and openings are aligned along the north-south axis in each unit, creating a clean, vertical indoor space that extends east to west.
The courtyards between adjacent units are thoughtfully spaced either to the north or south. Variations in wall heights and diagonal beams allow trees in the courtyards to cast semi-shaded patterns outside. The simple white exterior walls paired with gray concrete tiles blend naturally with the environment beneath the small leaf poplar trees.
