How to Place Wall Decorative Strips on Curtain Walls in Revit
When modeling curtain walls in Revit, it is often necessary to add edge water dissipation at the top of the curtain wall. However, wall decorative strips can only be applied to wall surfaces and not directly to curtain wall surfaces. So, how can you place wall decorative strips on a curtain wall?
1. First, split the curtain wall into curtain wall grids, as demonstrated in the image below.
2. Next, select the split section of the curtain wall, modify its element properties, and then move the wall at that location as shown.
3. Finally, place the pre-edited wall decorative strip outline onto the wall surface, as illustrated.
Explanation: From the steps above, it’s clear that wall decorative strips cannot be added directly to curtain wall components. However, by using curtain wall panels and switching their characteristics to those of walls, you can effectively add wall decorative strips to curtain walls. This method is practical for real-world engineering projects, allowing you to achieve decorative effects efficiently and reasonably.
