How do you add default project templates in REVIT? The REVIT software typically includes four main types of default templates: construction, building, structural, and mechanical templates. For MEP modeling, you have two options: use the mechanical template, which combines three functions in one, or select either the plumbing or electrical templates separately.
Here’s a quick guide on adding default project templates:
First, open the Options menu and navigate to the File Locations tab.
Next, add the desired templates: Electrical DefaultCHSCHS as the electrical template, and Plumbing Default CHSCHS.rte as the water supply and drainage template. By default, the project template file path is set to C:ProgramDataAutodeskRVT 2016TemplatesChina.
After selecting your templates, rename them if needed, then click OK to save the changes.
Note that the shortcut list displays only five options, so you may need to adjust the template order based on your preferences.
