The Cortezza building is situated in the 93 Park area in northern Bogotá. This district features a diverse mix of uses, including numerous office buildings and a wide range of commercial enterprises. Additionally, various types of hotels are scattered throughout the neighborhood.

This project aims to create a direct connection with the existing corner buildings by using a unified block composition. These corner buildings open to the city and feature retail spaces on both sides of their lower floors.

The building features three underground levels, seven floors above ground, and an open-air terrace. The reception hall is located on the first floor, distinguished by its double-height ceilings and the extensive use of natural materials covering the floors and walls. The pine wood on the ceiling symbolizes the building’s name, Cortezza, inspired by the sound of trees awakening the earth.

The design contrasts natural wood with stone elements, such as the stone slabs on the reception room’s double-layered walls and marble flooring in the public areas on each floor. While the material selection emphasizes a natural aesthetic, the lighting design embraces minimalist configurations. The building’s double-layered façade helps mitigate heat gain during the afternoon hours.
