How to Manage Designated Mass Floor Usage in Revit

How to Set the Designated Use of Mass Floors in Revit

After creating a mass floor, you can specify its intended use. This allows you to perform various types of analysis throughout the design process. There are several ways to assign a purpose to a mass floor:

1. Using a Schedule:
Include the “Purpose” field in the mass floor schedule. Then, specify the purpose directly within the schedule. Open the schedule and click on the cell under the “Purpose” column to enter text. If you’ve already set a usage value for another mass floor, you can simply click the field and choose a value from the dropdown list.

2. Using Tags:
To tag mass floors in a view, apply mass floor tags that display the assigned purpose for each mass floor. Clicking on the tag allows you to edit the usage value.

3. Using the Properties Palette:
To specify the “Purpose” parameter value, select the mass floor in the view. Then, in the Properties palette, enter the desired value under the “Purpose” field.
