Two Methods for Inserting Doors into Curtain Walls Using Revit
Many users face the challenge of adding doors to curtain walls in Revit, as door families cannot be placed directly onto curtain walls.
Method 1: Set the Curtain Wall Panel Style to a Door
First, create a new curtain wall panel using the metric curtain wall panel family, and set its style to the door family category. This ensures the panel behaves like a door.
Next, design the door style you need on top of this panel, using the same techniques you would normally use to create door families.
Finally, within the curtain wall, use the Tab key to select the panel where you want to place the door, and replace it with your custom door panel.
Method 2: Convert Curtain Wall Panels to Regular Walls and Insert Doors
The second approach involves converting curtain wall panels into standard walls, allowing you to insert door families directly. This method is straightforward and lets you adjust wall dimensions by modifying the curtain wall grid layout.
Choose the method that best fits your project requirements.
