Prioritizing the landscape, nature reigns supreme. This project embraces silence and tranquility over noise and self-expression. The concept of “seclusion” reflects not only an attitude towards life but also a design philosophy.

The Chongqing Vanke Forest Park Sales and Exhibition Center is situated adjacent to the world’s third-largest urban park, serving as a retreat that bridges city life and nature, offering visitors a place for relaxation and escape.

This project is envisioned as a fantasy cabin hidden within nature, a small wooden house surrounded by towering fir trees. Initially designed as a sales and exhibition hall for residential projects, it is planned to be converted into a community kindergarten in the future.

The design of this building accommodates its initial commercial sales function as well as its future educational use. It also embodies the overarching design philosophy of the Chongqing Vanke Forest Park.

Returning to nature is a vital aspect of modern urban lifestyles and is central to this project’s planning. To this end, a massive mirror has been installed on the main facade, reflecting nearly 5,000 square meters of water and fir forest. At the base of this mirror, an entrance leads to the small wooden house.

Visitors slowly walk into the forest, immersed in the endless illusions created by the mirror’s reflection, until they arrive at this cozy cabin — a true home within nature.

For the kindergarten children who will eventually use this space, entering this fairy tale-like environment offers endless opportunities to explore the unknown and magical world beyond the mirror.

The mirror facade has become a signature feature of the project due to its high reflectivity. Acting as a curtain wall, it fulfills essential requirements for energy efficiency, environmental protection, thermal insulation, and lighting.

▲ The tall, dense cedar forest reflected by the mirror
After extensive testing, the designers selected single-layer insulated glass for the exterior facade, successfully balancing mirror reflection with indoor environmental comfort.

▲ “Mirror Wooden House”
Creating the unique atmosphere of the “Mirror Wooden House” demanded close collaboration between architectural, landscape, and interior design teams.

▲ Outdoor mirrored water scenery
The 5,000-square-meter cedar forest acts as a natural landscape container. The building seamlessly blends into its surroundings through the mirror reflections. The interior Seed Hall design complements this concept. Together, these elements breathe life into the architecture.

Beautiful architectural forms often coexist harmoniously with nature. When faced with the charm of forests and natural beauty, “disappearing” into the surroundings is a perfect choice. This fairy-tale inspired building holds a magical power that gently opens the door to the childlike wonder within every heart, inviting exploration of the infinite fantasies, mysteries, and curiosity hidden behind the mirror’s surface.
