The design extends the street elevation between two buildings, using an abstract intervention to preserve the overall scale of the street and block while emphasizing human scale. The proposed building stretches lengthwise along the plot, incorporating an atrium that brings natural light deep into the interior.

Pedestrian circulation plays a crucial role in shaping the building’s form. The BIM design creates a dynamic layout based on the building’s plan, effectively separating the movement of judges and staff from that of the public.
This approach integrates all key factors, resulting in clear, simple blocks crafted from basic materials, enriched with detailed features. Functional aspects are enhanced through expressive openings, contributing to the building’s overall character.

The building’s main entrance is located on the first floor, opening directly onto the street to welcome visitors. A large opening creates a bright, south-facing space. The vertical height complements the entrance staircase, giving the building a sculptural appearance that aligns with its functional requirements. Exterior walls shield the interior from direct sunlight, while carefully placed openings create a dynamic play of light within.

Courtrooms are located on both levels along the passage, each equipped with an office and a private bathroom for judges and secretaries, as demonstrated in the BIM tutorial. At the owner’s request, the courtroom furniture is customized to align with the building’s overall aesthetic. Every room facing the exterior has a window to maximize natural light. Corridors allow judges, secretaries, and staff to move discreetly, separate from the public areas.

Two courtyards provide natural light to the corridors. On the first floor, a green area offers users a pleasant outdoor space. The two-story basement serves as parking for both staff and the public. The entrance to the basement is located on the north side, separated from the pedestrian pathway coming from the main street on the south.

The building uses traditional structural forms and is constructed with reinforced concrete following European standards. The exterior enclosure consists of masonry combined with an external insulation system. Internal partitions are built with drywall and gypsum board.

The use of external insulation combined with low-permeability aluminum windows enhances the building’s energy efficiency. The concrete section facing the street appears to rise as a solid volume above a white outer surface punctuated with openings. These openings are echoed at the corners of the upper layer, creating a cohesive facade composition.

A new pedestrian bridge will connect the proposed buildings with existing structures. This bridge is constructed from the ground up, featuring a metal roof and vertical blinds designed to minimize weather impact.
