Why can’t external references be resolved in Navisworks?

This issue typically occurs when the original location of the linked NWC file has been changed, such as moving the folder, renaming it, or deleting it. As a result, the linked file fails to open properly.

The recommended approach is to convert the original file format to NWD. This format is commonly used during project releases or for archiving purposes. Unlike NWD files, NWC files are cache files generated automatically by Navisworks as an intermediate format and cannot be directly edited.
