After creating a building model and placing multiple architectural columns, you may need to add structural columns in the exact same positions. Manually placing them one by one would be inefficient. Fortunately, Revit offers a feature to generate structural columns automatically, making this process simple and quick.

Here’s how to do it:

First, go to the panel where structural columns are placed, then click on the appropriate tab on the right-hand side to switch from architectural columns to structural columns.

Next, use a box selection to select all the architectural columns where you want to add structural columns.

Finally, click to complete the process.

And just like that, structural columns are placed effortlessly in your model.
