Modeling Irregular Structural Beams in Revit: A Step-by-Step Guide

BIM Software Tip: How to Draw Irregular Structural Beams in Revit

When working on structural modeling, you may need to draw irregular structural beams. Here’s a simple example to guide you through the process, illustrated in the figure below:

First, start by drawing a regular beam following the diagram. See the image below for reference:

Next, draw another beam of the same size nearby. Make sure the length of this beam is slightly longer than the triangle shown in the drawing. Refer to the figure below:

Then, use the Align command to align the beams according to the drawing. If the alignment isn’t smooth, adjust the length of the beam you drew in the previous step.

Finally, the result should look like the completed structure shown below.
