Is Your Revit View Displaying Unusual Dark Colors?

BIM Software Tip: Is your Revit view appearing abnormal or unusually dark?

When you open the sunlight path, a dialog box will appear.

This happens because the software defaults to lighting mode. If needed, select “Use the specified project location, date, and time instead”. This allows you to freely adjust the sun’s position and set the lighting for any time of day.

In the example shown in Figure 1, the sun is positioned too low, causing the sunlight path to be effectively closed. As a result, the view appears darker than usual. Simply switch from stillness mode to illumination mode to restore a brighter view.
