BIM Software Tip: Understanding Area Coverage in CAD
In CAD, area coverage refers to masking or blocking objects behind a certain shape. This can be achieved by converting polylines into coverage areas, which can also be manually animated.
There are two common approaches to using area coverage, each yielding different results:
First approach:
You start by drawing the shape, then apply the area coverage. This allows you to mask the area at any time effectively.
Second approach:
You begin by drawing the mask first, then create the shape and move the mask onto it. However, this method does not produce the masking effect.
