How to Display Restrictions for New Features in Revit 2019
In Revit 2019, you can temporarily view dimension and alignment constraints within views to help resolve or modify elements in your model. To activate this, click the Show Constraints button on the View Control Bar. When enabled, the drawing area will display a colored border, indicating that it is in the Display Restrictions mode. In this mode, all constraints appear in color, while model elements are shown in a half-tone (gray) to distinguish them clearly.
Note: For optimal visibility of the restrictions, make sure the Fine Lines display option is not selected. You can find this under the View tab, within the Graphics panel.
By selecting a constraint, the elements constrained by it will be highlighted. For example, if you select the constraint on the left, the two walls and two windows associated with that constraint will also be highlighted for easy identification.
If you want to remove restrictions, you can either delete or unlock the constraints directly.
Note: Constraints added to elements in sketch mode are displayed in half-tone colors. To modify or remove these constraints, double-click the graphic element to enter sketch mode.
To exit the Display Restrictions mode, click the corresponding button again on the View Control Bar.
