How to Replace Component Roads in InfraWorks
You can replace component styles for any section of a component road. Additionally, it’s possible to insert or modify various components within the component road assembly.
To begin, select the component road you want to edit.
Right-click on the selected road, then choose Replace Components.
From the displayed directory, select the desired component. Hover your cursor over the road; an orange placement guide will appear to help you choose the starting position.
Click once to change the component style at the location indicated by the orange guide.
The new component section you have selected will be highlighted in blue.
Note: The inserted component has a default length of 10 meters, with a minimum supported length of 2 meters.
You can adjust the length of the component manually by clicking and dragging the black control grip along the component road. Alternatively, enter the precise length value in the mini toolbar.
For precise alignment, select the black control grip and use the Align to menu to align the component point with either the starting or ending point of the entire component road. This feature is especially helpful when replacing components along the full length of the road.
Once you have finished your adjustments, right-click and select Complete the Replacement.
