Recently, there has been a surge in inquiries regarding BIM level exams, including questions about exam content, dates, registration requirements, and more. Most inquiries focus on the registration process. Today, I will provide a brief overview of where to register for BIM exams and the eligibility criteria for registration.
1. BIM Exam Registration Methods (Using the National BIM Level Examination as an example)
1.1 Online Direct Registration
The National BIM Level Examination is a certification jointly organized by the Chinese Society of Graphic Design and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of China. Over the past six years, including the upcoming exam in the second half of this year, there have been 13 sessions. This certification is widely recognized across China, with many companies offering preferential treatment to candidates who hold this credential.

1.3 Registration via Training Institutions
Many BIM training institutions serve as designated exam centers. If you are a student at one of these institutions, you can request them to register on your behalf to complete the BIM Level exam registration process.
2. Eligibility Requirements for BIM Level Exams
The National BIM Skill Level Examination currently includes two levels: Level 1 and Level 2. Below are the registration requirements for each:
Level 1 Exam Registration Requirements (Meeting one of the following conditions is necessary):
- Educational background: High school diploma or higher (or equivalent)
- Experience requirements: At least 1 year of continuous BIM modeling or related work experience; or no less than 300 hours of training
Level 2 Exam Registration Requirements (Meeting one of the following conditions is necessary):
- Educational background: High school diploma or higher (or equivalent)
- Experience requirements: Must have obtained the Level 1 certification and completed the recommended training hours for Level 2; plus at least 2 years of continuous BIM modeling and application work experience
Important: Please refer to the official exam outline for detailed registration requirements. Each exam center requires candidates to present qualification documents such as proof of work experience. These documents will be retained for verification during and after the exam.
Official Notice from the Examination Association: Candidates must meet the qualification criteria and provide proof from relevant institutions or employers to register for the exam. Acceptable proof includes training completion certificates from training institutions or work experience verification from employers.
Failure to provide valid documentation will be considered fraudulent registration, which not only damages the reputation of the exam center but may also negatively impact the candidate.
In summary, these are the registration methods and eligibility requirements for BIM exams. I hope this information is helpful to everyone preparing for the exam!
