How to Use Revit Layout to Draw Roof Decorations
In this guide, I’ll demonstrate how to use the layout tools in Revit to create roof designs within building models.
Steps to Create:
1. Open a building template, place your model, create an internal model, and select the standard model.
2. Click on the layout tool, then draw the roof outline directly on the rooftop platform. Once the path is drawn, select it from the elevation view.
Here are some additional BIM software tips for drawing embedded models in Revit:
Steps and Important Notes for Revit Layout:
Step 1: Choose the layout command.
Step 2: Select or draw the desired path.
Step 3: Choose a work plane or switch to 3D mode (using the viewer is highly recommended).
Step 4: Draw the outline within the viewer.
Step 5: Finalize the layout.
Note: Hollow layouts and other hollow shapes can be combined. For example, hollow stretching and hollow layouts can coexist tangentially. Feel free to experiment with these options to find the best fit for your project.
