The Effective Use of Flat Regions in Revit
When working in Revit drawing, some components may not appear in the plan view due to their elevation and view range settings. To address this, you can use the “Flat Region” feature, as demonstrated in the image below.
1. In the Properties panel, adjust the View Range by setting the top level to the highest window, as shown in the illustration.
2. Go to the View tab, click on the dropdown menu of Plan View, and select Flat Region, as displayed in the image.
3. Draw a rectangular frame over the window at the highest position and click Confirm, as depicted.
4. Reset the View Range back to the desired values, as shown in the figure.
5. Select the Flat Region, click on the rectangular box, then choose Hide in View under Elements, as illustrated.
What this means is that multiple view depths can coexist within the same view, allowing components that fall outside the standard view depth to still be visible in the plan view. This enhances the completeness and clarity of your drawing information.
