How to Display Different Colors for Various Pipe Types in Revit
During project modeling, assigning different colors to various pipe types helps with easy identification and modification. For instance, pipes belonging to different systems can be color-coded to clearly indicate their respective systems. The following example uses different pipe diameters to illustrate this process.
1. Open Revit. Click on the Analysis tab, then select Color Fill from the dropdown menu. Next, place the Pipeline Legend anywhere in the drawing area. A pop-up window titled Select Color Scheme will appear. Click Confirm, as shown in the image.
2. Draw pipes with diameters of 100mm, 80mm, and 65mm respectively. The legends will be generated automatically, as demonstrated in the figure.
3. Select the placed Pipeline Color Fill Legend, then click Modify | Pipeline Color Fill Legend. Under the Plan tab, use the Edit Plan command in the panel, as shown in the illustration.
This approach allows pipes of different sizes to be visually distinguished by color. Note that this method applies only to the current view and does not affect other plans or 3D views. It can also be used to differentiate pipelines from various systems, thereby simplifying the modeling process.
