How to Annotate Multiple Steel Bars in Revit
The reinforcement diagram illustrates the positions of all strengthening elements within a specific structure or component. There are various approaches to creating concrete construction drawings, and drawing styles often differ between countries and design firms.
In Revit, steel bars have the ability to be annotated automatically or manually through predefined tag families that read their properties and settings. This capability significantly enhances the detailing process for steel bar design.
Using multiple steel bar annotations, you can label several steel bars and their configurations with a single tag. This feature allows you to mark each steel bar within a particular setting, providing detailed notes essential for manufacturing and construction.
By leveraging this functionality, the drawing generation process becomes more efficient, leading to improved productivity.
To use this feature in Revit, navigate to the Annotate tab, then to the Tag panel. Under Multi Rebar, you will find two tools:
- Aligned Multi Rebar Annotation
- Linear Multi Rebar Annotation
After selecting one of these tools, simply choose the rebar settings or individual rebars you want to annotate. Similar to other tabs, you can customize the multiple steel bar annotations. These multi-rebar annotation families are part of the Revit system families. Within the Type Properties, you can access tag families and sizing styles that are easy to configure and adjust.
