How to Modify Decimal Places and Units for Elevation in Revit
Many users want to adjust the decimal places displayed on the elevation symbol or add units to the elevation values, but they often don’t know how to configure these settings. This small detail is easily overlooked. Today, I will share a simple trick for modifying decimal places and unit settings for elevations in Revit. Follow the steps below:
1. Open Revit and create a new project as an example. First, switch to an elevation view and select the elevation header. Note that you cannot directly double-click the header family to enter family editing mode. Instead, locate the corresponding family in the Project Browser by matching the elevation type shown in the Properties panel. Right-click the family and choose Edit to open the family editor and make your changes.
2. Select the Elevation Tags in the view. Then, under the Modify | Label tab, click the Edit Label command to open the Edit Label dialog box.
3. Choose the Facade tag parameter, and click the Edit Unit Format button below the parameters. Here, you can set the number of decimal places, choose unit symbols, and adjust how positive values are displayed. Make your desired adjustments.
4. After making the modifications, compare the elevation headers before and after the changes to see the updated format.
