How to Transfer Project Standards in Revit

Project standards include the following elements:

  • Family types (including system families and loaded families)
  • Line weights, materials, view templates, and object styles

Steps to Transfer Project Standards:

  1. Open both the source and target projects in Revit.
  2. In the target project, go to the Manage tab.
  3. Within the Settings panel, click Transfer Project Standards.
  4. In the dialog box titled Select the project to copy from, choose the source project.
  5. Select the specific project standards you want to transfer. To transfer all standards, click Select All.
  6. Click OK to confirm.

When the Copy Type dialog appears, you can choose one of the following options:

  • Overwrite: Transfers all new project standards and overwrites existing types.
  • Only New: Transfers only new project standards and ignores duplicates.
  • Cancel: Cancels the transfer operation.
