Using Groups in Revit
Today, I want to discuss a practical approach we used while building the electromechanical model. We encountered many identical instances in the drawings, and we sought an efficient method to complete this repetitive work quickly and accurately.
Here’s a simple example:
When drawing valve components at the end of a fan coil unit, grouping can be used to quickly add these end valve components.
After creating the geometry at one end, we group the coil and end devices together, forming a family. This grouped family can then be copied to other locations with identical equipment, as shown in the image below:
Once the management system adjustments are complete and the end devices and valves are connected, this method makes the process much more straightforward and efficient.
