The Use of Revit Structure Dimensioning
Dimensioning in Revit Structure is a view-specific feature that displays distances and measurements within a project. There are two main types of dimensioning: temporary and permanent. When placing components, Revit Structure automatically generates temporary dimensions. Additionally, you can create permanent dimensions to specify exact sizes and distances. Both types of dimension annotations can be modified, and any components associated with these dimensions will update accordingly.
When you create or select geometric shapes in Revit Structure, temporary dimensions appear around the component. This feature helps you position components accurately within the design. Temporary dimensions include a small arrow that allows you to convert them into permanent dimensions easily. However, it is important to note that if you select multiple elements simultaneously, Revit Structure will not display temporary dimensions or constraints.
