How to Create a Sump Family in Revit
1. In Revit software, start a new Metric Conventional family model. Use the Pick Reference Plane tool to place reference lines between 500 and 700 on the front elevation. Label the dimensions as illustrated in Figure 1-1.
2. Again, use the Pick Reference Plane tool to select reference lines between 500 and 700 at the reference elevation. Mark the dimensions and add dimension tags as shown in the image.
3. Use the Create | Fusion command to draw a line and then lock it in place. Click Finish as demonstrated in the figure.
4. In the front elevation view, move the line to a distance of 700 and lock it. Add size labels accordingly, as shown in the diagram.
5. Use the Pick Reference Plane tool to select reference lines at 250 and 300 on the front elevation. Mark the dimensions and add dimension tags, as shown in the picture.
6. In the reference elevation view, pick a reference line at 300. Mark its dimensions and add the appropriate dimension tags, as displayed in the image.
7. Use the Create | Hollow Fusion command to draw a line and lock it, then click Finish, as shown in the figure.
