How to Manually Divide Curtain Wall Grids in Revit
Revit Software: When modeling curtain walls, the automatically generated curtain wall grids often do not meet specific design requirements, so manual adjustments are necessary. Here is the step-by-step method:
First, isolate the curtain wall to make the operation easier. Then, open the Curtain Wall Grid tool located in the Construction panel on the Build tab. This will bring you to the Modify/Place Curtain Wall Grid contextual tab.
Next, select the appropriate segmentation tools you need for the grid layout.
Hover your mouse over the horizontal boundary of the curtain wall. You will see a preview of where the vertical grid lines will be created, as illustrated in the image above.
Similarly, a preview of generating a horizontal curtain wall grid along the vertical boundary will appear, allowing precise placement.
Use the Add/Delete Line Segment tool to edit the curtain wall grid segments, focusing on the areas circled in the image above.
By following these steps, you can manually divide both horizontal and vertical curtain wall grids to customize your design.
