How to Use View Templates in Revit to Copy View Filters Between Different Views
In Revit software, when you need to copy view properties to other views, it can save time by avoiding the need to reset each view individually. You can fully copy the filter settings from one view to another using view templates.
Step 1:
Open the view that already has the desired filter settings applied. Then, go to the View tab and click Create View Template from Current View. In the popup window labeled New View Template, enter a name for your template—in this example, we use Bridge Filter. Finally, click OK to create the template.
Step 2:
The View Template dialog box will open automatically, allowing you to choose which parameters to include in the template. Uncheck all options except for Replace the filter with Visibility/Graphics Overrides (V/G). You can also click Edit… next to this option to verify that the correct filters are included, as shown in Figure 3. Click OK to complete the creation of the view template.
Step 3:
Next, open the view where you want to apply the filter. In the Properties panel, find the View Template parameter. If no template is currently applied, it will display as <None>.
Step 4:
Click the dropdown to open the Apply View Template dialog box. Find and select the template you created earlier—here it is named Water Supply and Drainage Pipeline Filter. Make sure Replace the filter with Visibility/Graphics Overrides (V/G) is checked in the view properties. Click OK to apply the view template and complete the process.
