How to Resolve Confusion with Revision Numbering in Revit Drawings

At times, revision numbering in drawings can become confusing, involving a mix of numbers, letters, and spaces, as illustrated below.

In Revit Design, you can set and adjust the revision numbering to avoid this confusion when creating drawings.

Follow these steps to manage the revision numbering:

(1) Click the View tab, then select the Revise command within the group, as shown in the image below.

(2) In the dialog box that appears, under the numbering section, change all entries to digits to standardize the numbering format, as demonstrated in the following figure.

(3) Click OK in the dialog box to reorder the revision numbers sequentially, as shown below.

(4) If you prefer to sort revisions alphabetically, change the numbering entries to letters in the dialog box; the revisions will then be sorted accordingly, as illustrated in the final figure.
