How Revit Enhances Component Visualization in 3D Views
When working with Revit, it’s often necessary to examine the style and arrangement of components within a 3D view. Here are two efficient methods to quickly isolate and observe specific components.
Method One:
1. Select the components you want to inspect in the 3D view. You can select multiple components at once.
2. Click on the Isolate Element (I) option located in the View Control Bar.
This will isolate the selected components, allowing you to focus on them independently.
3. To revert back to the full view, simply click Reset Temporary Hide/Isolate.
Method Two:
Starting with Revit 2016, the Selection Box feature enables quick isolation and sectioning of selected components using 3D section boxes.
1. Select the components you wish to observe in the 3D view (multiple selections allowed).
2. Activate the Selection Box tool found in the Modify tab’s view bar.
3. Revit will automatically generate a section box around the selected components.
4. Adjust the section box as needed by clicking and dragging the blue corner handles to resize the box.
5. To restore the view, simply uncheck the Section Box option in the view properties.
