Key Principles for Effectively Dividing Revit Worksets

Principles for Dividing Revit Worksets

Basic Principle: Each team member should be assigned 2-3 worksets.

Architecture Discipline: Worksets can be organized by exterior facade, podium, interior walls, doors and windows, standard floor interior walls and doors and windows, core tube, bathrooms, staircases, and furniture layout.

Structural Discipline: Start by dividing worksets based on building zones, then by floor, and finally by components. For example, vertical structural columns from floor 1 to floor N (F1~FN), vertical structural beams from F1~FN, and structural slabs. Note: Structural beams and columns on the same floor should be managed by the same designer.

Mechanical and Electrical Engineering: Organize worksets first by system, then by subsystem—for instance, heating and ventilation systems, HVAC water systems—and you may also consider classification by building floors.
