Question:
Is it possible to deploy Revit add-ons by including other software options within the installation wizard?
Solution:
The installation program for each Revit add-on has been updated to support including images in the extensions. However, Revit Extensions themselves are not updated automatically and must be installed manually.
First, download the installation program and run it to extract the files. By default, the extracted files will be located in the C:Autodesk folder. Each project will have its own separate entry.
If you want to create a new extension or modify an existing one, follow these steps:
- Navigate to the program list, where users can select which programs to install or modify.
- Regarding including other software and accessing dropdown menu fields:
- Click the “Add to…” button.
- Browse to the extracted folder and open the
x64directory. - Select the MSI installer for the desired plugin.
- In the Command line parameters field, enter the following:
INSTALLATION=iculturbed; "C:Program FilesAutodeskngth;"
Complete the expansion process before closing the setup window.
