6. Restart your computer to complete the uninstallation process.
After rebooting, you can proceed to reinstall the Revit 2015 product.
Additional steps before reinstalling:
- Open Windows Explorer and delete the contents of the Temp folder, but do not delete the Temp folder itself. You can access it by typing
%TEMP%in the address bar of Windows Explorer. - Use the Task Manager to end any running antivirus programs.
Note: Simply disabling antivirus software from the system tray may not be sufficient. Antivirus programs often block certain activities such as registry access or DLL updates during software installation or removal.
To fully disable antivirus programs, right-click their taskbar icons and select “Disable” from the context menu. For detailed instructions, contact your antivirus software provider.
Important: It is crucial not only to disable antivirus software but also to terminate their processes using Task Manager to prevent interference.
To confirm the antivirus program is not running in the background:
- Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete.
- Click Task Manager.
- In the Processes tab, find the antivirus program’s process and click End Process.
Once the system is clean and antivirus programs are fully disabled, proceed with installing your Revit 2015 product.
Note: If the Revit product still appears as installed in Windows Control Panel after following these steps, please refer to the technical solution titled: “Revit displays as installed in Windows Control Panel even after clean uninstallation”.
