Issue:
WSCommcntr4.exe causes AutoCAD to become unresponsive and may lead to crashes.
Cause:
Windows lacks sufficient permissions for the affected executables.
Solution:
Grant elevated permissions to both acad.exe and WSCommcntr4.exe by following these steps:
1. Close AutoCAD.
2. Press CTRL + ALT + DEL and select Task Manager.
3. Under the Processes tab, scroll down to find WSCommcntr4.exe.
4. Right-click on WSCommcntr4.exe and choose End Process.
5. Close Task Manager.
6. Open Windows Explorer and navigate to:
C:Program FilesCommon FilesAutodesk SharedWSCommCntr4libWSCommCntr4.exe
7. Right-click on WSCommcntr4.exe and select Properties.
8. In the Properties window, go to the Compatibility tab.
9. Check the box for Run this program as an administrator.
10. Click Apply and then OK.
11. Next, navigate to the AutoCAD executable:
C:Program FilesAutodeskAutoCAD 2014acad.exe
12. Right-click on acad.exe and select Properties.
13. Go to the Compatibility tab.
14. Check the box for Run this program as an administrator.
15. Click Apply and then OK.
16. Launch AutoCAD and verify if the issue is resolved.
