AutoCAD May Freeze During License Verification Process

BIM Software Tip: AutoCAD May Hang During License Verification

Issue:

When launching AutoCAD, the program gets stuck at the “Checking License” stage.

Possible Causes:

  • Corrupted license files
  • Internet connection restrictions
  • Interference from antivirus software

Solutions:

1. Delete the trusted storage data files and restart AutoCAD. These files are named like ADSKFLEX-NUMBERS_TSF.data and are usually located at:

For Windows XP:

C:Documents and SettingsAll UsersApplication DataFLEXnet

For Windows Vista / Windows 7:

C:ProgramDataFLEXnet

2. Temporarily disable your antivirus software and try launching AutoCAD again.

3. If the problem persists, try rolling back to an earlier version of Internet Explorer before starting the program. Once AutoCAD launches successfully, you can update your browser. This issue usually occurs only during the initial activation process.
