BIM Software Tip: Revit 3D View Orientation Not Saved with File
Issue:
When you open a model and change the orientation of the 3D view, then save the file, the updated view orientation does not persist. The 3D view reverts to its previous orientation upon reopening.
Cause:
The 3D view orientation is not automatically saved with the file. Each view requires manual saving to retain its orientation settings.
Solution:
You need to manually save the 3D view orientation before saving the model file. Follow these steps to save a 3D view:
- Open the 3D View.
- Press the F8 key (or Shift + W) to display the Navigation Wheel.
- Click the expand button to open the control panel menu.
- Select Save View from the wheel menu.
- Save the model file.
