BIM Software Tip: Why Does the Software Slow Down After Loading DWG/DGN Files?
Solution:
Importing AutoCAD DWG or DGN drawings increases the amount of data in your project file, which can cause the software to slow down.
If you are using these files only as drawing baselines, consider linking to them instead of importing. This approach minimizes data load and improves performance.
For cases where you need to edit or draw using the imported files, make sure to delete the imported drawings once you have completed your work.
Additionally, if you must keep imported lines, clean up the drawing by removing all unnecessary elements to reduce data size and maintain software responsiveness.
